Joe Buissink

An internationally acclaimed photographer, Joe Buissink's work is about capturing the moments, and the essence of the person in those moments. Joe's photography defines the wedding and other life events as art forms for his many celebrity clients. He is a world renowned teacher and lectures throughout the United States and abroad.

Joe has received numerous awards including the International Leadership Award in Photography by the International Photographic Council at the United Nations and is part of Cannon's distinguished group of Explorers of Light. In addition, Joe's photos were honored in Nikon's Word Portfolio, a show case publication featuring the world’s top photographers. In 2003, Kodak hired Joe to shoot their International Ad campaign for their Portra Film Line, and in 2005, Apple selected Joe to be their spokesperson for the Wedding Industry, in the release of their new program, Aperture. In February of 2007, American Photo nominated Joe as one of the top 10 wedding photographers. Joe has been featured on Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, E!, Extra, and on Lifetime's Weddings of a Lifetime. Numerous publications have printed articles in praise of his style. He is a regular contributor to In Style magazine and his work appears in People, American Photos, Gourmet, LA Times, LA Weekly and Los Angeles Magazine.

As the parent of a child with an autism spectrum disorder, Joe brings a special sensitivity and artistry to portraying the families in Autism Heroes and has generously donated his time and talent to this project.
